I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Well, maybe madness is a strong term. Rather, things are not as planned. The older boys are at their final dress rehearsal before tomorrow’s performance of Hamlet. Instead of doing some thrift store shopping and playground time, D is watching a DVD while snuggled in his sleeping bag. Poor guy’s running a rather nice fever (101.7 at 10 a.m. and then again at 3 p.m.) and wanting to just snuggle up. Thankfully, one of the mom’s involved in the homeschool production has kids to bring up this way for a different play rehearsal. So, at least I won’t drag D 45 minutes each way in the van to pick up the big brothers. Just a short 20 minutes each way….
The upside is that I’ve been able to catch some of the Ultimate Homeschool Expo 2009 live today. Anyone can join in the live sessions for free this week. But, if you want access to ALL the goodies, you need to pick up your ticket. At the moment, it’s $40 for one or $60 for you and a friend. I’m extending my giveaway offer for this week as well. Here’s the list of materials you can choose from as a thank you when you order a UHSE 2009 ticket through my link:
Writing Strands 1 (older version with cassette tape) ($15 retail value)
Writing Strands 2 ($20 retail value)
Evaluating Writing ($20 retail value)
Essays on Writing ($15 retail value)
Internet Set: Instructional Fair’s Cyberspace for Kids (1999 edition) with Teacher Created Materials 2409 Internet Activities for Science
Pre-K/K set of books (some writing may be in them, but lots left to use in each book): Essential Learning Products Handwriting Skills Simplified Level A, Learning Horizons Kindergarten Language, School Zone Counting 1-10, Earlybird Kindergarten Mathematics 2A, and Abeka’s Art Projects K4
Fantasy Audiobook set: The Keys to the Kingdom: Mister Monday by Garth Nix audio cassette book (ex-library) AND Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins audio cassette book (ex-library)
The UHSE 2009 membership site went live this morning and I’ve yet to start downloading all the goodies. Several speakers and vendors donated ebooks or audios for the Mommy Grab bag. Previously recorded sessions are up for downloading as well. Just a reminder that the $40 for one $60 for two pricing will not be in place forever. Typically, once the last session is edited and up on the membership site the price doubles. And, a new ‘feature’ this year are some kids sessions. (Geology: Dig into Rocks and Fossils and Civil War to Civil Rights are the two I’m most interested in having the boys utilize.)
This year, UHSE is hosting sessions at 10/2 CT (Need your time? Look at the show page — http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Ultimate-Homeschool-Expo). each day. Go ahead and mark all of these times on your calendar so you can join in. It will be a time of renewal, refreshment, re-education, and revival. You will love it!
Remember that you can join any of these events complimentary. Just mark the times for each session.
