After the couple week break from reporting, I thought I’d better try to keep on task!
Well, the scale is going in my favor as it slowly inches down to numbers I hadn’t seen since before R was conceived. Many of my clothes are getting looser which nets me comments here and there. As much as I enjoy having things get ‘big’, it’s reaching the point of feeling odd wearing jeans that would fall off my body without a belt keeping them up.
Nothing new has been done beyond being extra careful about portion sizes and doing my best to keep ‘treats’ to a single serving with other things (e.g. fruit and vegetables) being consumed more.
I did finally give that Pilates for Wimps DVD a try before it was due at the library. I liked that the instructor had another person demonstrating the modified version for those unable to tackle the ‘full on’ forms. For me, some of the work needed the modified form to even attempt completion. But, not all the exercises needed to be modified. It did show that my balance is still relatively good. I just have stinky ab action!
While some of the moves seemed easy, I could FEEL it in my core for days afterwards. So, overall, it was a good experience and something I’ll probably check out again from the library when we get back from our trip. It also confirmed what I already knew about needing to spend time working on my core. Maybe it’ll eventually mean the new gut that appeared after J’s cesarean delivery will start to depart. I still can’t wrap my brain around having only a 10 inch difference between my waist and hip measurements. Historically, I had anywhere from 12 to 14 inch differences.
Goals for the future…..
Keep increasing water consumption (which might be hard as cooler weather means I want more TEA during the day.)
Make sure I’m getting some time off my booty each and every day. While we are down South, it will probably mean walking (in the heat) and just ‘dancing’ with or for Little J.
Keep working at improving my nutrition!
Simple goals, but not always easy to do. The upside for the trip is that I won’t have much snack food hanging around to tempt me. Although, the cake Mom’s ordered for my sister and brother-in-law’s reception cake has my mouth watering in anticipation regardless of the calories each petite slice contains.
