After all that momentum with the Fit Mommy Challenge, I was a BAD Fit Mommy the first week of January. So, I skipped posting and admitting my shame.
Yep, the day after the challenge ended had me munching on a Teriyaki Burger from Carl’s Jr. when we were out doing errands most of the day. In my defense, it is one of healthier options on the menu. Plus, I didn’t get mayo on it and ended up scrapping most of the sweet Teriaki sauce off.
Then, last week we had P’s Court of Honor where the sloppy joes had the huge rolls from Costco. You know, the ones that are all white flour with sesame seeds on top? Well, that plus the 2 day old donut with chocolate shavings that was singing my name had me go from feeling great to feeling quite bloated. I’m sure my cycle played a small role as well…. But, the scale still went UP 2 pounds overnight. YIKES!
Getting back on track wasn’t too bad, though. One mom brought a wonderful tray of cut veggies to the parent’s meeting on Monday. I really enjoyed the crisp cucumber giving no thought to it’s ability to rid the body of extra water weight. Come Tuesday morning, those 2 pounds were gone again.
I really need to get some yummy cucumbers sliced up and in the fridge as another munching option…..
So, aside from the backsliding on some food choices, my diet and exercise have not seen any real change from before. I’m nursing a sore back today, so my plans for Wii time are being tabled. Lots of stretching and yoga poses are taking it’s place.
And, this morning showed another pound gone on the scale. Just 2 pounds to go until I can rejoice that 20 pounds has fallen off my frame compared to my pre-pregnancy weight a little under 2 years ago. I’m now wondering if Little J will nurse long enough for me to reach my ultimate goal weight. After all, breastfeeding does burn calories. You just have to be careful to not eat all those extra calories if you want to shed the weight.
