Back in 2016, I was thrilled to attend ShiftCon in my ‘home state’ of Louisiana. Any reason to see family and hit some of the sites in New Orleans is great. Being about to meet likeminded people makes it better. That’s why I am going to embrace health by attending ShiftCon 2019 this fall in Buckhead, GA. (That’s the Atlanta area!)
How You Embrace Health By Attending ShiftCon 2019
This will be the 5th ShiftCon Eco-Wellness Conference. With a change in leadership, I am eager to see how things play out for the event I love so much. I expect to see the founder, Leah, present. But, another influencer I know, Ari, has taken over the helm for running the conference.
This conference covers the areas of wellness, environment, lifestyle, and food.
There are many reasons for attending ShiftCon. The following are geared for the average person and do not assume you are in the influencer marketing space.
Attend Educational Sessions & Eat Great Food
There are so many options for sessions when you attend ShiftCon. While there are some geared for bloggers/influencers, there are others which are all about educating people on issues in the eco-wellness space.
One of the sessions I attended in 2018 talked about plastics in clothing. That microfleece everyone loves sheds little particles each time you wash. Most of the particles end up in the water system and appear to be food to smaller organisms. While you can’t avoid shedding them, you can minimize the impact with an extra filter on your washer. Also, washing the items less often helps.
When you attend ShiftCon, you’ll find some meals included in the price of the ticket. Typically, it has been breakfast and lunches. That leaves you on your own for dinners.
Something unique for this particular conference is that they only serve non-GMO food. Last year (2018) they upped the game and also went completely gluten-free for the main meals.
One thing I can say is that the food quality is consistently amazing, usually organic in addition to non-GMO, and you never feel hungry after eating.
Find New Companies to Support
The expo area is one of my favorite parts of this conference. The team is very selective about who is allowed to exhibit. (Such as you won’t find any GMO anything here!)
I have found new favorite brands in the past. Like Coconut Bliss and Applegate. And companies who offer mindblowing supplements like JustThrive. (Seriously, that last one had the most amazing keynote presentation on probiotics.)
Many of them sample out items in the expo space. Several even send you home with samples!
Here’s a sample of a few companies already on board for 2019.
Mingle with Other Like-Minded People
One thing I love about Leah’s philosophy is that there are many shades of ‘green.’ She has always gone for a no judgment zone for ShiftCon. She will even tell people about how drastically her own life has shifted.
This means you can be new to the “green” space and just starting on the journey of living a healthier lifestyle with conscious choices. Or, you can be that hardened homesteading mama who raises chickens, grows your own vegetables and make everything from scratch.
Regardless of where you are on the green spectrum, you can find others to support your choices.
Grab Your Ticket for ShiftCon 2019
If this sound like something you’d love to join me at, then pick up your ticket now! Don’t let the label of blogger deter you. I can say that the ‘swag bags’ each year have always met or exceeded the cost of my ticket. Plus, the yummy food included during the day sets it over the top.
Note ~ This is my affiliate link which means I earn a commission on tickets purchased through it. Many thanks in advance to anyone who elects to join me and others at ShiftCon and use my link to do so.
Remember, together we can make ShiftHappen and leave the planet a better place for future generations.
