Do you ever feel like time just has a way of getting away from you?
It sure feels like that to me. Here we are in the second week of Advent already and some of my best laid plans have still not come to fruition.
I couldn’t find our Advent wreath form, so I still have my mix-matched candlestick holders to hold the Advent candles.
I wanted to do the Jesse tree with the boys. All that’s happened so far is getting the tree set up with lights, but no Jesse tree ornaments are on it yet. That gives me something to strive for this week…getting the ornaments printed and cut out so we can play catch up.
I do feel like I have added some time for delving into Scripture and spending time with the Lord, though. I am loving sitting alongside the teens as we explore the life of Joseph on Sundays. And, this morning I made the time in my schedule to be at Mass this morning to celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.
As the obligation to attend Mass was lifted, the number of parishioners there was minimal. But, I loved entering the church while it was still dark and coming outside as it began to become lighter. Spending even just 30 minutes in prayer with a few dozen individuals was a great way to lift my spirit and be in God’s presence.
What have you been doing this Advent Season?
Throughout the Advent and Christmas season, I am again co-hosting the 40 Days of Seeking Him meme. All Christian bloggers are invited to join Trish from A House Upon a Rock and myself as we chronicle our journey through Advent. Rather than do a separate link up post for this, you’ll find the linky to add your own blog post at the bottom of the post.
Join the 40 Days of Seeking Him Week One Link Up
If joining us on the 40 Days of Seeking Him meme, please link directly to your post. Every week we will link up and share what we are doing, learning or how we celebrate the birth of our Lord. You are more than welcome to link up to more than one post each week if you’ve written multiple posts on the topic of Advent and growing closer to Christ.
