Thanksgiving is in our rearview mirror now. The holiday season is in full swing. This includes having Christmas or other holiday music on the air waves or played off our own music collection.
I will admit that I adore Christmas and holiday music. I have a banker’s box in the house which is split between movies and music CDs for this time of year. Many of the music CDs are older, like 20 years old.
One of the artists represented in that box is Amy Grant. I’ve loved her music for decades. Being given the opportunity to review her latest CD, Tennessee Christmas, was such a blessing for me. And, now, I get to share it with you.
This post, Make Your Holidays Bright with Amy Grant Tennessee Christmas CD, was made possible with a review copy via Propeller /FlyBy Promotions. All opinions are my own.
About the Amy Grant Tennessee Christmas CD
Christmas albums are not new to Amy Grant. However, Tennessee Christmas was released almost 20 years after her last one. This album is a mixture of familiar and new tunes which weave together the joy, love, laughter, and even grief this season brings.

Unlike past albums, you will not find grandiose orchestrations. Rather, this one is much more like coming into her home and hanging around the piano singing together.

My Thoughts on the Amy Grant Tennessee Christmas CD
Okay, I’ll admit that I went into this review with high expectations. I have several of Ms. Grant’s albums already and love each one for different reasons.
This one is no exception. Of course, the first song, Tennesse Christmas, is a familiar one from a previous album. But, each of the selections became a musical delight for my ears.
Now, I will say that some of the songs are bordering on the melancholy side. But, I find that resonating with me as there is a touch of melancholiness during the holiday season for most of us.
I know that Amy Grant Tennessee Christmas will be played for many years to come in our house.
