On my quest to take care of myself more, I’ve been trying out new products. Skin care is a big area for me as the longer winters of Alaska tend to leave me with dried out skin. Even though I’m not out to win any beauty contests, I also seek to look my best.
Amazon Rain’s Deep Nourishing Oil appealed to me for tackling my dry skin issues. And, so far it has not disappointed me.
This product uses a blend of botanical oils that have been naturally extracted from nuts, seeds and fruits growing in the Amazon Rainforest. The essential fatty acids in those oils then help your skin maintain the lipid moisture barrier. The end result? My skin looks and feels moister.
All the ingredients in the skin care line are organic and wild-harvested. These products have Zero (0)
additives, chemicals, GMO, Gluten, colors. All come in natural tone, color, and smell.
Key Rainforest Ingredients:
- Rosehip Seed Oil slows the aging processes and smoothes the appearance of uneven skin tone. It’s a great source of vitamin A. It also contains a generous complement of unsaturated fatty acids to soften your skin.
- Brazil Nut Oil lubricates and moisturizes your skin. It helps to prevent dryness and promotes a clear complexion. It’s also a great source of essential fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, and selenium — a key antioxidant.
- Buriti Oil softens your skin, giving it that supple texture. It’s the richest source oil for beta-carotene, as well as a great source of pro-vitamin A.
I have noticed that the orange hue of the oil will leave my face with a slight hint of orange coloration at first. For a nighttime application, the temporary change of color is not an issue. But, if I am applying it in the morning I do feel the need to use makeup to create a balanced skin tone. As I’m in the minority of not using make-up daily, I doubt it would be a big issue for most women out there. (FYI, the orange hue comes from the beta carotene in Buriti Oil.)
Aside from the product being wonderful, I am happy to share that the company, Amazon Herb, possesses a mission that guides their work while honoring the environment and communities. Along with bringing the healing values of the living Rainforest to its customers, they seek to go beyond the ideal of fair trade by empowering and enriching the villages.
The Amazon Rain Deep Nourishing Oil was sent to review retails for $55 on their site. While it is definitely more expensive when compared to many of the products found at your local store, I can say that the quality far surpasses most products I have tried. The oil helped with moisture without clogging pores or causing other irritation. I know that I’d prefer to use something that works well for me than go through a bunch of less desirable products that leave me wishing for more.
