Fall is just around the corner and I know that I love to add something each season to freshen up my wardrobe. Long, dark Alaskan winters have me longing for splashes of color to help brighten my mood. Thankfully, Monroe and Main‘s Fall Collection for 2014 is delivering on that desire for color in my wardrobe.
Add Color to Your Fall Wardrobe with Monroe and Main ~ Slimming Sassy Dress
Life as a homeschool mom (who is also driving one son to and from school daily) has me typically in pants and tops. But, I love to dress up for church or dinner out. For years, my closet held a variety of basic pieces (e.g. a black skirt) that could be mixed and matched. However, many of the tops tended to be on the more neutral side as well.
Enter the Slimming Sassy Dress from Monroe and Main into my life…..
Here’s the description from the Monroe and Main website:
“Shapely, easy fit makes this a must-have wardrobe staple. A surplice neckline, empire waist band and gathers in all the right places narrow your silhouette to accentuate your best features. 38″ l. Rayon/spandex; machine wash. Imported.”
I knew when I saw the dress’ name that this was THE ONE piece I wanted to add to my closet. I long for dresses that fit well and leave me feeling beautiful. Picking the color was the harder choice with family members split between emerald and berry options. They also have it in black, but where’s the fun in staying drab for the dark winter months?
I can not be more pleased with this dress! I received the Slimming Sassy Dress in plum (a color that has always looked good on me, whether clothing or makeup.)
The fabric is light and moves with me. The cut accentuates some of my better features (aka my top half!) and drapes well over areas I’d rather hide (aka my wide hips!) with the hemline landing near my knees. The Slimming Sassy Dress becomes a gorgeous canvas for me to express myself with a simple change in accessories.
And, I know that it was a great choice when wearing it to church this past weekend. I received several compliments from friends about how nice I looked. I was almost disappointed to be going home afterwards instead of out to dinner!
This dress should be easy to care for as it is machine washable and line dry with the ability to use a cool iron on any wrinkles. For a mom with boys who create messes continually, that’s a key point when selecting an outfit. And, it is currently on ‘sale’ with an introductory price of $69.95 in misses sizes and $79.95 in plus sizes when ordered by December 17th.
While I was all about the dress, I spied a LOT of different items on the Monroe and Main website. They have gorgeous jewelry, fun shoes, a wide variety of clothing options and even items for men. Talk about a great one stop shopping spot for anyone wanting to breathe new life into their wardrobe.
