A big thanks to Disney Baby for sponsoring this post and the Disney Baby “Little Character” Contest.
There are so many times during the early years of a child’s life that can be just magical. Seeing your baby smile at you (and not pass gas at the same time!) can still your heart. Hearing them speak your name (Mama! Dada!) in such a cute little voice can also give you warm fuzzies. Hugs and kisses do the same and can help you build a treasure bank of magical moments to remember.
What has always seemed magical to me is seeing a child grow into being more independent. “Me do it!” said while they are trying to be like the ‘big people’ has the potential to have a big emotional impact on a parent as well. My youngest son is quickly leaving the world of toddlerhood behind and entering his time as a toddler. With three older brothers in the house, it is no wonder that he is always eager to be more grown up. Once he figured out how to walk, it was no time before he was running and chasing after his big brothers.
He also learned about being a ham for the camera from his big brothers. When we were celebrating my birthday as well as one of his older brother’s birthdays, he discovered that birthdays mean cake and possibly ice cream. “Ba-goo” is how he’d say ice cream and boy did he generate a lot of laughs while trying to get most of my ice cream at the restaurant. That meal out became a magical moment with my baby.
Do you have a photo of your child (ages 0-2) that reflects a magical moment?
