-1- Winter continues to let us know it is here to stay. We had close to 8 inches of snow from Wednesday night until around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. I am so grateful that our co-op got cancelled as the idea of driving into Anchorage was not appealing to me.
-2- J seems to have had a growth spurt without me fully realizing it. I’ve now pulled out the 3T bin of clothes and can’t get over how well some of them are fitting him. Now I just need to find the pajamas as only one pair was in that bin. I know I gave away a ton of stuff before we left Maryland, but I saved some pjs.
-3- I am anticipating a slightly quieter house this weekend as P and R will be at a merit badge lock-in with their Boy Scout Troop. It’s amazing how different dynamics are with one or two of the family out of the house.
-4- R had his well child visit this week and got a clean bill of health. Unlike his other brothers, he is NOT near the top of the charts for weight or height. While we waited for the nurse to bring his immunizations, we had a discussion about what the growth curves really mean and why being lower than his brothers is NOT a bad thing.
-5- **Warning: Confession from the Mommy Chronicles to follow** J has decided to name the sides he is nursing. I’ve now got a red and blue side. Occasionally, he tries to tell me there’s more than 2 sides and somewhere is the elusive black side. Where this came from, I haven’t a clue. But, the little guy is persistent and consistent.
-6- I am starting to think roasting a chicken every other week is the way to go for our family. I love having a yummy dinner of roast chicken and then using the carcass to make chicken soup a few days later. That came in quite timely this week as P was ill for 2 days and ate a TON of soup when his appetite returned. Amazing how much soup they’ll eat when I have a big pot on the stove.
-7- Excited to see on the blog tonight that we’ve reached 1000 followers. Many thanks to all who are following and those who decide to join and follow our adventures. Here’s the snapshot I took as I was so excited to see it:
