I missed participating last week as it was just full of activity. Somehow, I thought Mr. O might think me a bit insane to be up in the middle of the night to write a post with 7 different things he’d find to be random. I snuggled in bed and kept toasty warm. The older boys and I did do some Black Friday shopping (Kohl’s, Target, Fred Meyer and Wal-Mart), but waited until the more decent hour of 7 a.m. to leave the house. Overall it was a pleasant experience with only a handful of things we wanted not found on the shelves.

Thanksgiving was spent at the house of one of his co-workers. Time for visiting plus a yummy dinner that everyone contributed towards was a wonderful respite. It did get extremely warm, so that I was down to a short sleeved shirt (having planned ahead) and J ended up topless for a short while.
Even though Mr. O and the boys stuffed themselves on Thanksgiving, we still had our own family dinner on Saturday. We had a 20 pound turkey, so there’s quite a bit of meat now in the freezer awaiting some creative twists for future dinners.
Mr. O spent the weekend working on a project. We bought a pellet stove from the local fireplace store so there is an alternate source of heat for the bottom story of our house. After losing heat for several hours because of a part malfunction, it is quite welcomed. I’ve got photos to share later of the entire project, but will share what the stove looked like at the store:
This week was a wash for schooling. The pellet stove project meant the entire schoolroom was in chaos. We’ve got it mostly whipped into shape now after spending several hours each day plugging away at it. Saturday morning will be spent cleaning the other public areas of the house for a ‘house party’ we are doing with Oral B. The boys are thrilled as each has at least one friend coming for the party. We’ll be watching Cars 2 for part of the time.

This week saw the start of Advent and a new meme that I am co-hosting with link ups for posts about Advent or Christmas. I’d love for anyone visiting here for the first time (or returning after several days) to check out the 40 Days of Seeking Him Week One post and maybe pay a visit to some of the submitted posts. Or, better yet, submit your own posts!

Finally, I usually spend a fair amount of time watching the different holiday movies on the air. This is especially true since we now have Hallmark Channel again. There’s just something wonderful about those somewhat sappy films. However, the last 2 weeks had Mr. O and I watching a few films with Anthony Hopkins that might be considered thrillers bordering on becoming horror flicks.
The Wolfman was more entertaining than I thought it might be. The Rite was powerful, so much so that I spent most of that night in prayer instead of sleeping. I’m also very thankful to know there are exorcists around still as the alternative would trouble me even more.
There you have it… 7 rambling things to share. Clicking on the meme button at the top of this post will bring you to Conversion Diary where you’ll find us all linked up to share. Reading the thoughts of other bloggers through this meme is a great way to relax into the weekend. And, by all means, feel free to comment on my post here. If you are stopping by via Conversion Diary, I’d love to know about your visit and return the favor.
