I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
There are a LOT of great blogs and bloggers out there. And, being active in social media as well as some specific groups, I tend to see a LOT of blog posts in the course of a month. Sometimes I’m moved to share on social media, whether it is pinning a post on Pinterest or sharing it on Facebook or Twitter. But, it is nice to take a moment and share 5 of my favorite blog posts from the month. Many thanks to Marcy at Ben and Me for starting up this monthly round up and inviting me to join!
Colin at Catholic Husband shares a glimpse at where things could be in his post titled
The Future-History of the “Church of Nice”. So many people push for their own agendas and give little thought to what watering down doctrine could lead to for the church. I, for one, am glad that the Catholic Church moves at a snail’s pace and doesn’t listen to the more vocal groups.
I love all the neat crafts and recipes that Ellen does over at Confessions of an Overworked Mom. Her Sour Cream & Chive Potatoes are just crying out for me to bake up very soon. I would be making them tonight to go with our pork loin, but the only potatoes I have are tiny new potatoes that might not do so well with the cutting. Then again, I might try anyways.
Diane at Suburbia Unwrapped is another blogger who has such neat ideas when it comes to crafty and food. Earlier in September, she featured a Healthy Halloween Dessert: Candy Corn Fruit Parfait. I love the simple combination of items to make it look like a candy corn without the sugar rush that we really don’t need much of whether you are worried about sugar intake for your diet or dental health. This is something I am also planning to do with the boys this month.
Birgit from Designs by Birgit had a wonderful post over on Catholic Stand this past month, 12 Thoughts on Marriage As We Approach Our 40th Anniversary. I find that I can never have too many reminders about how to work on my marriage and love to have someone with many years behind them sharing what they’ve learned.
Finally, I saved the most moving post for last. Actually, I would have to highlight a few months of posts if I was going to be honest. Mary over at Passionate Perseverance is sharing the journey she and her family are making as they prepare for her daughter to be called from this earth to join our Heavenly Father.
Rainy Days and Smiles is just one of her recaps of the journey on a day which fell into the ‘good day’ category. Words fail me at trying to express the emotions which well up inside me as I read Mary’s posts. She is walking a walk no parent dreams of when they are anticipating the birth of a child and she is doing it with such grace. I will mention that there is a button at the end of each blog post for Go Fund Me to help this family with the expenses they are incurring as they care for their daughter and struggle with the loss of her husband’s job. If you hop over to read this one, I suspect you will be like me and end up reading for a long time.
Many of those linking up will be pinning their favorites on our collaborative Pinterest board. Be sure to follow the 5 on the Fifth Pin Board!
