Today I am grateful for kids who sleep through the night (mostly!)
Each time a new child has joined the family, it becomes apparent rather quickly that I really covet my sleep. Yes, there is something wonderful about a midnight snuggle and nurse with a wee babe. But, it’s equally wonderful to get several hours of uninterrupted sleep.
For a while, J looked like he might never want to be back in his own bed nor sleep for a long stretch. Slowly and surely, he has arrived at the place of sleeping for at least 8 hours and sometimes as long as 11 hours. And, I’ve noticed that he does NOT sleep well if he wakes for an early morning snuggle in our bed.
Best of all? J now will pick a different family member each night to bring him to bed. So long as he’s okay with the choice, he’ll lunge into bed and snuggle down for the night. Even D has brought him to bed on a few Tuesday nights when the older boys and I are at Boy Scouts. R is the only other boy who was so good about sleeping at night.
What are YOU grateful for today?
If you blog and are interested, Brenda at Garden of Learning is hosting this challenge for the month of November. No need to participate daily, either. My goal is to post pretty much daily like last year. Yet, I know that sometimes life intervenes.
