Today I am thankful for snow!
Okay, I’ll admit that I am NOT the biggest lover of winter weather. But, if I’m going to live in a climate where winter abounds, I much prefer snow to ice. And, ice is what we had Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday up here in Alaska.
Yep, it warmed up enough for it to RAIN in November…even up to the more northern reaches of the state. The weather pattern was quite unusual and it had me hanging out in the house until Wednesday afternoon when I took the boys onto base for a youth science program.
Just in time for Thanksgiving, we had snow falling. There was about 3 or 4 inches covering up the icy areas when we left for the Thanksgiving gathering. By the time we got home (about 5 hours later) there was another 3 to 4 inches.
The snow is pretty to see and much nicer for driving than the ice. You just have to be careful as there are hidden icy patches under the snow.
