Today I am thankful to have no where I HAVE to go.
This might seem to overlap with other gratitude challenge posts this month, specifically that I am thankful to be a stay at home mom.
But, today this is timely as I was woken up by Mr. O sharing the news of freezing rain having hit. The roads are treacherous and he is now stuck on base (where they’ve gone to code black for road conditions…basically you aren’t supposed to be on the roads if you aren’t emergency personnel.)
Knowing that until the sun comes up and helps the temperatures rise above freezing, I am so glad we can just stay safe and sound in our snug log home. We have plenty of work to do around the house. And, in case the electricity goes out, we’ve already filled 7 gallon water jugs used for camping for drinking water. We do own a small generator, but only Mr. O knows how to operate it.
Assuming we do not lose power here, we just might be busy baking this afternoon.
