I can’t believe that we are already to the 10th day of November. Time sure flies by quickly some times!
Today I am thankful for having a teenager in the house!
What? Have I lost my mind?
Granted, there are days when his attitude really stinks and I long for the younger boy. Less disagreement and arguing from him and a greater desire to please his parents. Ah…those were the days.
Although, I have to say that this past Friday night we experienced a benefit of having a teen in the house. Stephen and I were able to go out without any of the boys and did not have to hire someone to come sit with them.
I wish I could say we did something super exciting on our first date in years. Nope…it was the 12th Celebrate Safety dinner and awards presentation for the US Army Corps of Engineers Alaska District. So, it was work related for Stephen.
We did have a nice dinner and a show, even. They had Red Green come do about an hour routine between the dinner and award presentations. While I can’t say that I would have picked the evening’s events on my own, it was a nice change of pace for me. Plus, who doesn’t love to see their spouse enjoying themselves (as he was laughing quite a bit during the show.)
And, as proof that I was actually there….
Stephen now has a sudden urge to see if the libraries up here have any of the Red Green shows to check out. I’ve never seen one, but found the live performance entertaining. Hubby thinks the boys might enjoy the old shows, too.
