Do you like to find books for the kids to read which help them embrace the Christian faith? Do you find that they enjoy stories of people in the Bible, especially with fun illustrations?
While all of my boys have enjoyed reading religiously themed books, my youngest loves to do so the most. He actively looks for them and wants to discuss what is presented in the story. Embracing our Christian faith is important to him.
Meeting Bible Heroes Series Launches with Meeting Moses
The new Meeting Bible Heroes series of books has launched with the release of Meeting Moses. This series is written for children ages 5-8.
Readers join a young boy, Max, as he travels back into time. Finding himself in Ancient Egypt, Max soon gets a first-hand look at what happened during the time of Moses.
At first, Max meets the Moses as a child long before he knew that he was Jewish and would be asked by God to set His people free. The story fast forwards in time as Max and the young Moses slip a short bit into the future to witness the burning bush and God’s presentation of the Ten Commandments in the desert. Upon their return home, though, they find that Pharoah has found some technology previously taken from Max. And, Pharoah has decided that he would not give the Jews their freedom.
Thankfully, for Max and future generations, there is a rewind button so that he can ‘erase’ his entire visit to Ancient Egypt.
In the end, Max has a great appreciation for Moses, the first of the Bible heroes to be featured in the series.
Meeting Moses is written by Robert Chasin and illustrated by Matt Roussel. It would be a great addition to your home during the season of Lent or as an Easter basket gift.
Our Thoughts on Meeting Moses
Overall, Meeting Moses is a delightful story. It is not the first time someone has taken the approach of a child traveling through time to meet Bible figures up close.
The animations are very similar to those used in many modern animation films. You can almost see how it could quickly be transformed from a storybook into an animated short.
The text highlights key points in the life of Moses. I see the storybook as a great launching point for further discussion. Additionally, you can grab a Bible and read the full account with your child.
For a limited time, you can grab a FREE copy of Meeting Moses for Kindle. After the first 2000 copies are purchased, the cost will be $4.99.
As much as I love ebooks for my personal library now, I find that the boys prefer holding a book in their hands. This title is available in hardback directly from the author. (See the website for specific pricing and shipping offers.)
