Easter arrived and the next week seemed chock full of activity. Somehow doing a wrap-up post for the 40 Days of Seeking Him link up just didn’t happen. However, I wanted to take a few moments for looking back at Lent 2016 to reflect on my personal journey as well as share about those who linked up for Holy Week.
For me, this Lent was another season where the busy-ness of life kept me from spending as much time in quiet contemplation and spiritual growth. My plans to rejoin the MOMS group at church for the study of (affiliate link): Consoling the Heart of Jesus: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat- Inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. However, with ‘mom’ driving duties, I had to switch to doing the study at home on my own. Which translates to having a difficult time staying on track.
The times when I felt more spiritually focused were the mornings when I made time to attend daily Mass. Those 30 minutes of time hearing Scripture and worshipping God with others can really help to set your compass for the day.
Looking at the Most Viewed Posts from The Holy Week Link Up
There were 3 top posts. One from me and 2 from others. It was also our busiest week for submissions with a total of 29 posts submitted!
1st Penitential Psalm from School of Immaculata shared a bit of reflection and then this gorgeous image of the psalm.
Classes by Beth shared her post Peace I Leave with You (Mindful Mondays). She shares 3 simple steps that help her refocus and regain peace.
Finally, my post, What the World Needs Now is Love, had the most visits. I’ll admit that it only scratched the surface of what I wanted to write and am honored to have had people clicking through the link up to visit it.
I really hope those who have been reading along through the season of Lent for 2016 have been blessed by some of my posts and those of the other bloggers who have linked up. While Lent might be over and the Easter season is in full swing, there is always time to revisit many of those ideas.
I’d love to hear from those who are reading about how you find the 40 Days of Seeking Him link ups for Advent and Lent. Trish and I would love to know if there is anything we could do to make it a more spirit filled experience for our readers.
