Do you ever have those days where you just want to sit down and enjoy a meal with comfort food included on the menu? As moms, we could say that all our days are busy and have us longing for some time in the “comfort zone.” Or maybe that’s just me….
When you think of comfort food, what comes to mind? I’ll admit that I don’t have just one comfort food, but rather a variety depending upon what I am craving. I might be craving a warm mocha to sip on a cold winter day or a bowl of chocolate ice cream with berries on a hot, summer day. In our house, though, there is one item that everyone has on their comfort food list and that’s macaroni and cheese.

Even if I can make a variety of comfort food dishes from scratch, there are times when life is busy and I want something convenient. As in something I can grab from the freezer and just warm up while making a salad or other side dish to go with it. STOUFFER’S is a name I’ve come to trust when it comes to hearty meal options made from quality ingredients and then frozen to make life a little bit easier. They’ve just launched four all-new STOUFFER’S Mac & Cheese varieties that bring a new twist on Mac & Cheese with unique, but familiar flavors such as Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese or White Cheddar Mac & Cheese.
I found both options available in the freezer section of our local store and decided to pick up a package to have on hand for a busy day. Well, it didn’t take long before I found that day where I wanted something soothing, yet not time consuming to make. We had spent the morning running errands and we were all quite hungry by the time we returned home. I wanted something easy to make which would be ready to eat in under 10 minutes and was NOT a simple sandwich. Rather, I wanted to soothe my soul a little bit in the process with a selection from my comfort food list.
While my Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese was heating up in the microwave (it takes about 8 minutes total), I was able to sauté up some kale and slice a tomato to help round out my late lunch.
The Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese smelled heavenly as it became warm and paired nicely with the warm kale and cool tomato slices. In under 10 minutes, I had a wonderful lunch prepared which I was able to savor for just a few minutes before the boys swarmed in asking if they could have some of my mac & cheese. Be warned ~ the aroma just might bring people out of the woodwork looking to enjoy YOUR meal!
Even with the flurry of hungry boys, I was able to enjoy my meal with this signature comfort food which left me feeling a bit more relaxed after a morning of running around town. The combination of vegetables prepared by me and the easy to heat STOUFFER’S Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese met my desire to enter the ‘comfort zone’ for a while. And, I was able to tackle the full afternoon schedule without a rumbling belly.
What is a comfort food for you or your family members?
