Skin issues, especially adult acne, have plagued me for years. Although I do not use make up to cover it all up on a daily basis, I do feel lacking when going ‘bare’ with all those imperfections to show. When I heard about the Derma Roller System, I knew that I had to test it out.
About the Derma Roller System
The Derma Roller ($99 retail, but currently on sale for $49.95) is a hand-held device which has the ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin to promote healthier skin cells. Using the Derma Roller to renew your skin cells regularly, you will be able to treat common problems such as wrinkles, skin hyperpigmentation, scars (including acne scars), uneven skin, stretch marks and even hair loss.
On the roller, there are many small needles that are rolled across the skin (patterns shown in the materials provided with the system.)
The Derma Roller has been featured on a variety of programs including The Rachel Ray Show and The Doctors.
My Thoughts So Far on the Derma Roller System
Looking at their chart for different uses and which size needle to pick, I went with the 1.0 mm as it appears to be the most versatile of the sizes. The ONLY uses that need a smaller needle are for hair regrowth and eye treatment (which I eventually might need to do.)
You do not need to press hard to feel the needles pricking your skin. And that is how I’d describe the sensation…not unpleasant, but distinctive with the pin prink sensation along your skin. However, I’m willing to put up with that sensation to see results!
So far, I see a lot of promise for this product. I have lots of little bumps (uneven skin) along my arm from ingrown hairs and I am using this there to help get back to the smoother skin of my youth. I am going to start testing out its ability to minimize stretch marks of which I have plenty from 4 full term pregnancies and weight loss in the past.
Have you ever tried something like the Derma Roller System in home or at a salon?
