Winter can be rough on your skin. Up here in Alaska, the air gets rather dry and I find myself craving warm beverages rather than just a plain cup of water. I find that my skin suffers the consequences. So, I was happy to have the chance to review 2 products from InstaNatural, Dead Sea Mud Mask ($ 25.77 for 16 oz)and Advanced-Action Retinol Moisturizer ($ 24.75 for 3.4 oz) to see how it can help with my skin care woes.
Mud masks have been around for as long as I can remember. InstaNatural offers a Dead Sea Mud Mask which serves as a deep skin cleanser, pore reducer and natural moisturizer that benefits all skin types. The base ingredient is mud from the Dead Sea, which contains beneficial minerals such as Magnesium, Sodium and Bromine. They then add a blend of Organic Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera, Calendula Oil and Hickory Bark Extract which aid in providing excellent moisture to dry and irritated skin.
Reading the instructions, you do not need to put a super thick layer of the mud to have a positive effect. After cleaning the skin, you apply a thin layer of mud. It will be wet at first with the mud gradually drying out. Once it is completely dry, about 10 to 15 minutes, you can remove the mask with warm water applied in a circle pattern. This is meant to be used just one time a week.
I followed up the application of the mask by using their Advanced-Action Retinol Moisturizer. This product provides a strong dose of 2.5% Retinol (Vitamin A) for maximum anti-aging results. Vitamin C & Green Tea work to strengthen the skin to protect against external aggressors that cause damage. In addition, Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba Oil & Shea Butter deeply moisturize the skin to provide long-term hydration. This moisturizer can be used at night and/or day to even skin tone and texture for a youthful radiance. As the product can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, they recommend using only at night for sensitive skin or applying sunscreen if used during the day.
My experience with these products has been quite positive. My first application of the Dead Sea Mud Mask did a phenomenal job of pulling impurities from my skin. I ended up with what looked like an acne outbreak shortly after removing the mask. I suspect including the mask in my routine on a weekly basis will eventually have the acne no longer appear. What I did love for using these products is how smooth my skin felt afterwards. You know that smooth feeling of a baby’s skin? That is how my face felt for 3 days after using the Dead Sea Mud Mask.
What do you use in your skin care routine to get healthy looking skin?
