Growing up, I used to love board games and to a degree I still do. Some of my favorite ones had people learning a bit more about the other people around them. Face to Face Dinner Party Edition from Harvest Time Partners definitely can get the conversation going when you have a bunch of adults around the table.
About Face to Face Dinner Party Edition
Face to Face® is an award winning conversation game designed to open a door to more effective communication around real-life issues and encourage decision making based on principles like honesty, loyalty, and commitment. The game strengthens the critical life skill of effective “Face to Face” communication that is being rapidly replaced by today’s “online chatter.” The Dinner Party Edition was designed specifically to support improved communication among adult couples as poor communication is often cited as a reason for relationship struggles. The game encourages discussion on real-life issues in marriage, raising children, and challenges in the workplace. The Dinner Party Edition is ideal for married couples, couples contemplating marriage, and as an ice-breaker for adults in small groups and parties.
In addition to Face to Face Dinner Party Edition, Harvest Time Partners has a variety of other Face to Face card sets as well as Abundant Harvest Games and the The Principles of Our World Children’s Book Series.
Thoughts on Face to Face Dinner Party Edition
In many ways, Face to Face Dinner Party Edition is a fun approach to get conversations going. It could be perfect for adult gatherings or even for a different kind of date night with your spouse. I’m actually thinking this will be fun for some of our church gatherings where you might not know everyone at your table.
While some of the questions relate to how you’ll handle a particular situation as a parent, using the cards should not enable people to get caught in the trap of “my kid’s the best” contests which can sometimes happen between parents.
So far, it has been for just encouraging discussion at home. Considering how easy it is to fall into discussions that only center around the needs of the family, it is a nice change of pace for us. Although, I’ll admit that some of the cards hit a little close to home on issues that are bugging us. The card I’m holding below talks about when one spouse is a night owl and the other an early to bed and early to rise individual. Yep, that’s something in our house with me staying up late working or reading and then not wanting to get up in the morning now that it is dark until almost 9 a.m.
