For years, I have wanted to explore more about essential oils. Then, I was recently invited to a ‘class’ at a friend’s house which turned out to be specific to the multilevel marketing company she had signed up with as a consultant. I did learn a bit, but came home wondering if there wasn’t another option. Thanks to Plant Therapy, I have been able to review six of their essential oil blends to see for myself if I like using this type of product and how their company’s product works.
About Plant Therapy and their Essential Oil Blends
The owners of Plant Therapy believe in the power of essential oils, and know of their incredible benefits, with the desire to have them used in as many households as possible. Plant Therapy was founded with one goal in mind… provide the highest quality essential oils (and accessories) at a price that everyone can afford. Plant Therapy provides oils that are 100% pure, undiluted and therapeutic grade. They source each oil from top suppliers around the world, buy in large volume, and negotiate the best prices possible. Those savings are passed on to their customers.
It is their intent to get our oils in the hands of the people who need them by making them affordable to everyone.
Unlike some of the MLM essential oil companies, Plant Therapy does not make recommendations for internal uses of oils. Here’s their official statement:
All of our Essential Oils are certified to be 100% pure and natural, of therapeutic grade and free from any chemicals or pesticides. However, we do NOT recommend the ingestion of essential oils. They are highly concentrated and have the capacity to cause serious damage if used internally without the necessary expertise required in administering it. This is supported by the International Federation of Aromatherapists that does not recommend ingestion of essential oils unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical aromatherapy.

My Experience with Essential Oils from Plant Therapy
As much as I wanted to get the whole family involved in trying this product, I found that my scent sensitive husband and older boys wanted a wide birth between them and the oils. I suspect the fact that they were blends might have contributed to that.
J was a wiling participant, though. I found it a bit funny that he’d come up to me and say “Can I have some oil?” before proceeding to look at the small box. He knew that a few were off limits to him and would sometimes hem and haw over the couple he could use. Or, it would be bedtime and he’d ask for some Relax on his feet to help him sleep better.
I have to admit that I saw a much more relaxed little boy at bedtime when I put a drop of Relax on J’s feet. We also gave Immune-Aid a test when he was getting a cough. A single drop spread with a carrier oil on his chest seemed to help the cough even though it was not specifically targeting that symptom. He also loved Germ Fighter as it smells a bit like the kitchen when we’re baking and would request that one for trips to more crowded areas.
I did a mixture of neat application, application with a carrier oil, and inhalation. As I do not own a diffuser at the moment, I just opened up the cap and took a deep whiff of the blend for inhalation. My favorite one for that method was the Energy blend, especially when first waking up in the morning to help me get going. I also would use it before a long workout.
Germ Fighter, Relax , Immune-Aid and Tranquil were all used neat as I felt they would help to improve my overall well being. Germ Fighter is one that I’d even select just to wear for the smell like many women wear perfume.
Sensual is the only that I tried in a carrier oil. I do have to admit that when adding some to a small vessel of oil for massaging the flow went faster than I anticipated after the first drop taking a bit to come out. Thankfully I had not already completely filled my vessel and was able to add more carrier oil to help get a better dilution. This particular blend was something that my husband was exposed to for the review as he have me a few massages with the massage oil. He didn’t mind it so much after I made the adjustment where as I found it rather exhilarating.
For anyone who’s looking to start using essential oils on a budget, I definitely suggest giving Plant Therapy a look. They offer many different oils like the MLM companies do (just sometimes under different names) and the cost is more manageable. They even offer 19 organic essential oils in their collection.
