Beam N Read ® LED 6 Deluxe Hands Free Light (Review & Giveaway)

Here in Alaska, we are in our short days cycle with the sun rising after most people have arrived at work and setting before they leave.  In just a few weeks, we’ll have daylight from around 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Those short days mean a much greater reliance upon lights, even during the day as our house does not get any direct sun for several months each year.

While I don’t mind flipping on a switch for an overhead light, there are times when it just doesn’t work for a task at hand.  Or, there is someone else in the room not wanting that much light (e.g. when watching the TV) with me wanting a bit more.

Enter the Beam N Read ® LED 6 Deluxe Hands Free Light.

Now I can direct the light to what I want to see and not cause anyone else discomfort.  My hands remain free as the light is worn on a cord around your neck.  I can see that being handy during a power outage when I might need to hold my preschool son’s hand to lead him somewhere or carry items from one room to another.

Using the Beam N Read with Magnifier

This unit packs a powerful punch for light, offers 2 different colored plastic clip-on filters, and even came with a 4×5 clip-on acrylic Fresnel magnifier to help you see detail a little easier.

Beam N Read with Magnifier

That magnifier has me considering a return to cross stitching as I might actually have an easier time seeing what I am doing without putting the piece just inches from my face.  Even though I am not to the point of needing bifocals, I can admit that small stiches have my eyes feeling exhausted after a short while of concentration.

I have to say that I am really impressed with this product from Beam N Read.  They offer other configurations, too.  What a neat gift for the crafter in your life (or even for someone who wants a hands free light for reading or emergencies.)  The company even provides a nice list of uses and solutions for the Beam N Read on their website.

You can purchase the Beam N Read from Amazon for $29.99 right now.  Or, check out the Beam N Read News and Events page to stay up to date on what they are offering.  The company is also on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.

I would use it to read in bed at night! My hubby complains about trying to sleep with the light on and I wind up having to leave the comfy, cozy bed to go elsewhere. This would keep me where I’d like to be!

Love it! There are so many times I would like some extra light without turning on the lights for the whole room.
