I love the opportunity to review different Catholic products when they come along. Integrating our faith in all facets of our life is my goal.
Table Grace Dice provide an interesting way to get the kids a bit more engaged when it is time to say a prayer before eating.
A different prayer is burned into each side of the 6 sided wooden die. This die is made large enough to accommodate each prayer as well as being durable for repeated uses by little hands.
The ole’ Catholic standard ‘Bless Us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts…” is one of them. But, the others offer some variety to the daily routine.
Using the die is simple. Pick a child to give it a shake and a roll. Whichever side ends up is the one that gets read for the blessing prayer that time. If a young child wants to role, then an older sibling or parent could read the prayer aloud.
J had been very enthusiastic in his desire to roll the die. What self-respecting toddler (almost preschooler) wouldn’t be? However, he still wants to say the ‘proper’ prayer that he has learned over the past few years by sitting at the table with us. So, we typically got a double blessing on the nights when that wasn’t the prayer chance gave us.
If asked if this is a product I’d rush out to buy, my answer would probably be no. Yet, I’d definitely say that it could be a great gift option for a child in your life to give them variety in their meal blessing prayers as well as encourage the act of praying over a meal before they begin to eat.
You can purchase your own Table Grace Dice from Catholic Family Gifts for $11.95 plus shipping. They also sell a Catholic Prayers Dice with the basic prayers to allow for learning and practice which has caught my eye as well.
Guess what?? One lucky US reader will win a product from Catholic Family Gifts.

This is a neat idea! Thank you for sharing it! I imagine my kids would love it!
I agree that this sounds like a neat idea and I think that it would sparkle up some of our children at grace, too. I think that the other dice would be a great idea for random review of standard prayers, too.
Thank you for posting. Now I have an idea of a fun gift to recommend to others with little ones learning their prayers.
You are welcome, Mary!

I would actually get the prayer dice as I was thinking of making something similar to this idea for my Religious Ed class this year.
I love the catholic version of this, great for motivating and teaching the grandchildren. Going to have to put this on Santa’s list.
