She’s doing a theme for each week and this week is rocks.
I’ve been so busy trying to get reviews written and things ready for the new school year. So, I’ve neglected participating in this fun meme.
Make sure you visit her post (if you haven’t already) to see a nice collection of photos, including some from a past homeschool co-op. Very cool!
The times of this was perfect as we just had an afternoon adventure for fossil digging. So, many of photos are quite recent (as in days old!)
Last year, we visited Alpine Historical Park just a little further north than where we went looking for rocks. They had lovely specimens of fossils, including the one shown below.

Here’s a few close ups of our finds.
Future Themes:
Aug. 30 – Night
Aug. 30 can be any night shot, should be outside, inside at night is just an inside shot, not a night shot. I have a few good ones for this.
Sept. 6 – Benches
(with or without people on them)
Sept. 13 – Closeup
(of anything, I would especially like you to use any closeup features you have on your camera, get to know your camera)
Sept. 20 – Back to School
(this year, some other year, a bunch of years put together; of you, your kids, back to school supplies; whatever you want)
Sept. 27 – Relaxing/Peaceful
(whatever that means to you: a place, people, time of day, vacations, whatever…)

great finds! good summer activities with the kids
Great pics, scrapbook pages, and fossil finds. I love fossil hunting but have never had the opportunity to do this with my kids. My son did accidentally find a bunch of fossils in some rocks outside of a PA hotel once, that was fun! He was just looking at the rocks, like boys do, and found a rock with tons of fossils in it. My hubby made him ask the manager if it would be ok to take it with him.
I am so glad you were able to join up with us. I know life is busy, especially with so many boys to care for. I hope you will be able to continue to participate in my meme, even if only occasionally.
(((Hugs)))

Debbie,
I love doing this meme when I’m able. It just worked out perfectly that we’d just had that fossil hunt and I had photos waiting to be shared.
