When big brothers are working on their school work and I need to be helping one of them, I sometimes look for a DVD that I can pop in for J to watch. Ideally, it is a show that is educational in nature so he might soak up some knowledge over time. He’s loved many of the Rock N Learn DVDs that we’ve watched. And, now he has one in the house that is a great fit for being a preschooler.
About Rock N Learn Ready for School
This DVD features counting, colors, tying shoes (bunny ear method), being neat and tidy, following directions, holding a pencil, printing letters, listening, and more.
The fun animated characters make it easy for your child to get involved and practice right along with the video.
He loves holding the case and letting his big brothers know that it is HIS DVD and not theirs. Plus, he had already been curious about skills like tying his shoes. He’s even grabbed one of my sneakers for practice a few times while watching this DVD.
What I love about this DVD is that the different skills being shown are presented in a quick and fun manner. I can always let him watch just one segment and then help him practice the skill. Some of the skills, e.g. colors, come easily to him while others, e.g. that shoe tying, are more difficult to master.
For a limited time, you can find the Preschool Value line at Sam’s Club for the discounted price of $7.98 each. We spotted a few of them on a recent shopping trip. They could make a wonderful gift during the upcoming holiday season for those that like to shop ahead, too.
You can see the entire line up for Preschool and UpGrade value DVDs on the Rock N Learn website. They are normally priced at $14.99.
Guess what? One lucky blog reader will win their own copy of Ready for School on DVD! Entries are accepted through the Giveaway Tools form below until September 6th.

This looks like something my little girl would enjoy. I think the “Favorite Rhymes” would be right up her alley for entertainment as well as useful in practicing her speech development exercises. Thanks for the opportunity, Laura!
The other I would like would be “Dance with the Animals”.
