Music That Reflects on God’s Hand in Creation of the Earth

P1000178Sitting in Mass this morning, I was struck with the inclination to do a quick music share for this week’s column.

With leaves already dropping from our trees here in Alaska and a wind that made it feel like fall today, I thought it would be an opportune time to have some music to reflect on all of God’s Creation.

For the Beauty of the Earth

Version One (the more traditional setting I know well)

A different setting by John Rutter

All Things Bright and Beautiful

Another setting by John Rutter

Canticle of the Sun

What is one of your favorite songs that recognize God’s hand in creation?

As the featured columnist for the Movies and Music category, you can be looking forward to weekly posts on what we are watching or music we’ve enjoyed.

Feel free to leave suggestions for me as well that are family friendly or uplifting for adults.  While I have movies and some music selections in mind, I’m always on the lookout for other great choices.
