Welcome to the 62nd edition of The Christian Home, a weekly Blog Magazine posted every Monday. Each article was submitted by various Christian Blog Authors.
I am honored to be hosting the magazine again this week. There are some wonderful articles submitted for this issue. I hope you will enjoy them.
This week, we welcome a new featured columnist to the magazine… CrazyMom from Ramblings at the Crazy House. We were on the TOS Crew together for a few years and I absolutely love her humorous approach to many aspects of life that can drag one down. Thank you, CrazyMom, for joining The Christian Home as the featured columnist for Parenting. I look forward to reading your thoughts each week.
Parenting
Featured Columnist – CrazyMom presents >Instilling Self-Esteem is Important, but Can You Go Too Far? over at Ramblings at the Crazy House. She tackles a subject that is often disputed in my household as some family members focus so much on self-esteem that people begin to lose sight of relationships in lieu of fulfilling their own selfish desires.
Gentle Humor
Featured Columnist – Lisa shares Just for Fun over at The Army Chaps Wife. I have not watched John Braynan before, but trust when Lisa says he provides some clean humor.
The Godly Home
Featured Columnist - Sarah Coller presents Contentment Part Four: Keeping a Soft Heart over at Hope in Every Season. She wraps up her short series on contentment and shares a few lovely Scripture verses. I especially liked “Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” (James 3: 18) Of course, we can not have contentment in our lives if we are not at peace with things. modest fashion
Featured Columnist - Caroline presents Modest Monday and a Link Up over at The Modest Mom blog. She hit upon something that I often think…”Don’t show your cleavage.” Maybe I’m considered a ‘prude’ by some, but I try to have good coverage in my outfits and am mortified when anything slips about to show more than I want to show. I don’t need to be flashed during a trip to the grocery store, nor do my boys need to be seeing it all.
Finances
Featured Columnist- Mrs. White presents Electricity as an Entertainment Expense over at The Legacy of Home. Reading her article has me reflecting on just how much electricity our family uses for homeschooling and entertainment. I noticed that for a few months the electric bill had risen as the boys left laptop computers from our charter school plugged in all the time. So, I’m trying to reign that expense in and encourage them to enjoy the outdoors more and the TV and video games less.
Movies and Music
Featured Columnist - Laura O in AK dives into her archives to share The Shunning over at Day By Day in Our World. Getting a glimpse into another culture was quite interesting and this movie illustrated the idea of shunning so well.
Health and Fitness Check-in
Featured Columnist -Annie Kate presents Fit Mommy Friday: Getting Better posted at Tea Time with Annie Kate. She shares about her returning to better health and the ability to join in the March for Life. What a fun time she must have had!Hospitality
Featured Columnist-Heather shares Taco Salad for Lunch over at Marine Corps Nomads. Pretty much every time we do tacos for dinner, I opt for a taco salad instead of the torillas the boys and Mr. O use. Yummy!
