Christmas Eve had me up late wrapping presents while watching holiday films. I started with Holiday Inn, but had to table it after a while since Mr. O did not enjoy it nearly as much as me. Instead, I ended up with The Bishop’s Wife on for the rest of my present wrapping marathon.

Christmas morning had all the boys excited and no prospect of my sleeping in late. The older boys even got J too excited to think about snuggling me for a bit. Someday I’ll enjoy a more leisurely Christmas morning. It just won’t be for a while. Allowing them to open stocking without me did net me an extra 20 minutes in bed.
After the frenzy of opening gifts on Christmas morning, we headed out the door for Mass. It was enjoyable and no where near as crowded like the Masses on Christmas Eve. Overall, Christmas Day was lovely ~ minus the Christmas tree deciding to topple over that night.

Tuesday had us visiting Pizza Hut as a family for R and D to use their Book It program coupons. The verdict was that I can make a LOT more pizza that tastes better than what one large pepperoni pizza costs to feed the rest of us. A visit to the library also happened with us running into another family from the Boy Scout Troop. And, the boys all came home with books and DVDs to hold their attention for a while.
This week has had some ‘catch up’ for P with regard to science. Each morning he’s been doing chemistry experiments using the kit we got from Supercharged Science. Afternoons have held outings for the older boys with Mr. O (e.g. the range for target practice and some ‘hunting’ for small game.)
Mr. O made a lovely roast for Christmas dinner that managed to stretch over 4 dinners. Guess I need to start thinking what to cook now! (Pasta is on deck for the next dinner, but after that who knows.) And,I sorely need to bake bread.
Finally, I have enjoyed my much more moderate computer time this week. I was cutting back some already in part for fear of going over our usage amounts (which we did and necessitated a call to up our plan for the rest of the month), but also just to have a bit of a break from the craziness. Anyone that takes blogging seriously knows how much time it can demand. While off the computer, I’ve enjoyed lots of time with the boys and Mr. O as well as reading some books I have for review.
