As I continue going through my photos from this summer, I found a few to share from July 4th celebrations.
D and I accompanied P and R for a service project at the local 4th of July celebration. It was a bit drizzly that night. However, D and I enjoyed hearing the Band of the Pacific do their mike checks and warm-ups.
As for P and R, they were on garbage patrol with other members of their Boy Scout Troop. Pretty easy way to rack up some service hours.
There was also a ‘picnic’ at our parish with a drawing for a dirt bike. The pastor had commented that he’d love to win it. And, thanks to several parishioners buying tickets FOR him…he DID!

Great pictures! I posted pictures from our summer trip to the east coast from June/July Gloom California – I never knew what real heat was until I walked off our plane in Washington DC..

We had temperature shock last September when we traveled to Louisiana from here. Another year up in Alaska and I might not be able to stomach summer weather in the lower 48.
