For those of us who are paying attention to our blog’s ‘reach’, statistics are a way of life. That’s especially true for those of us doing reviews or giveaways as some contacts want to know the blog’s reach as evidenced in those metrics. However, there are so many that sometimes it makes my head spin a little while I try to grasp just what it all means.
A few months ago I read about Website Grader. I’ve even been sporting the badge from them showing my current rank in my side bar.
Here’s what came up on my last ‘run’ for this blog:
The website daybydayinourworld.blogspot.com ranks 156,623 of the 3,621,010 websites that have been ranked so far.
A website grade of 95/100 for daybydayinourworld.blogspot.com means that of the millions of websites that have previously been evaluated, our algorithm has calculated that this site scores higher than 95% of them in terms of its marketing effectiveness. The algorithm uses a proprietary blend of over 50 different variables, including search engine data , website structure, approximate traffic, site performance, and others.
After the initial result shown above, you can scroll down and find some of the measurements that go into the overall rank.
Blog Grade: 47
MOZ Rank: 3.7
MOZ has a possible rank of 10, just like Google Page Rank does. The blog’s Google Page Rank is a 3, mostly because it is a blogspot blog. If I make the migration to self-hosting it’ll go to a 0 with Google, but I should be able to either maintain or quickly reacquire MOZ rank.
There’s also a Tweet grade (mine’s a 93) listed. And, there are some measurements that could use improvement on my part (e.g. Meta description and moving off a free host.)

Just be careful, you might find yourself addicted to metrics like this one.
