40 Days of Lent 2011 ~ Day 38

Okay, I am so confused as I retype this post. It posted, and then when I was pre-writing the post for Saturday, it went poof! Guess who isn’t loving Windows Live Writer right now…

Today is Holy Thursday, the day when we remember the Last Supper and reflect upon the words Christ spoke. For Catholics, this day reinforces Christ’s imperative for the Holy Eucharist as well as the priesthood. For all Christians, we remember the last hours before Christ was arrested and began the short process that ended in his crucifixion.

Unlike other years, I wasn’t at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper tonight. D has a Cub Scout den meeting and with so few left for the year I didn’t want to make him miss it. All the boys went and had some fun outdoor time, although the cloud cover and breeze made me want to leave about 10 minutes after our arrival. So, I have been gathering up some music ‘videos’ of pieces that remind me of this first day of the Triduum.

Ubi Caritas is used by many during the Washing of the Feet

At some point, the Taize piece “Jesus, Remember Me” is often sung…

The night ends with this one as the Blessed Sacrament is moved…

  1. You found such great videos for the songs. The music is such a huge part of it. The choir works so hard every year. There are some things that are so wonderfully Catholic. I feel for you, when the blog isn't working right it's annoying. I've had some real weird things happen this year, but lately, (aside from the google ads I don't want) my bigger problem is brain fog. I drop thoughts halfway though.. or combine them, and I even wrote a whole post and called one of the boys his brother through the whole thing. Nobody else would know the difference but he did, so I had to change it!
