I love to bake! Sadly, we didn’t do much baking over the holidays as people took turns being sick. Nothing turns you off to baking like having a sour stomach.
But, we are back on track now. I’m just not sure that holiday favorites (e.g. Russian Tea Cakes / Mexican Wedding Cookies) will be made. Pumpkin chocolate chip cake made into muffins or small loafs will happen. And, I now have a new mini loaf pan in the house to use!
Artisan Bakeware Mini Loaf Pan
Emerson Creek Pottery sent me a mini loaf pan from their Artisan Bakeware line. The boys couldn’t get over how tiny is seems next to my regular loaf pans. I just assured them that’s how it is supposed to be (and then showed them some cheap metal mini loaf pans I have in the house.)
This Artisan Bakeware line is not only prettier than my cheap pans, it also performs better. Being stoneware helps it to prevent hot spots that can lead to burned spots. It is unglazed and 100% lead-free, not something a few companies selling in the marketplace can claim. Plus, it is made in Virginia… not a foreign import. All of those are great reasons for me to consider this company for my future stoneware needs.
So far, I have only used it to make personal sized loafs of bread. The boys think it’s the perfect size for a yummy sandwich, although I think it’s a little thick for that. I was pleased with how it performed (the bread didn’t burn anywhere while a neighboring loaf in a metal pan did end up burnt on the bottom.) Clean up was a snap as well. As there wasn’t much of anything remaining when I popped the bread out, I just hand washed. However, the little card about this product indicated that you can put it in the dishwasher.
The mini loaf pan I was sent to review retails for $11. A visit to the Emerson Creek Pottery website will show you all the options within this particular product line as well as other items they offer.
