but we know when we’ll be back again!
Yep, if you are reading this shortly after the post has gone live, the boys and I will be in a plane somewhere on route to Louisiana. I’ll be praying that the trip is uneventful and that all of us were able to get some sleep on the red eye flight.
The travel times were not my initial pick. However, when you are buying five plane tickets, the $60 per ticket savings add up quickly. So, instead of a morning departure and evening arrival, we have a midnight departure and mid-afternoon arrival. At least the flight from Anchorage has only one plane change for us.
For those that don’t know, the reason for our trip to the lower 48 is that my baby sister went and got married. Rather than the big wedding, she opted for a small, private ceremony…just her, her husband, and both sets of parents. Now my parents are hosting a reception for them and we decided that the boys and I should be there to celebrate alongside.
It’ll be great fun visiting family and friends as it’s been almost 4 years since we’ve been to Louisiana. We will have some weather shock, though. Last I heard, the highs were in the upper 80s (on the warm side for this time of year.) We didn’t even push past 74 up here in Alaska this summer. Poor Little J might be in for a shock as it’s going to be the warmest weather he’s ever experienced.
I’m still planning to keep up with the blogging while down South. And, the boys will have some schoolwork to do (online things like Mathletics and Supercharged Science.) Thanks to technology, I’ve even got some TOS Crew review posts ready to post in the next few weeks. But, if it’s quiet for a day or two, we’re just having fun for a bit.
