Timelines of all sorts seem to snake their way into many homeschool curriculums. The boys have embraced this with mixed results. They enjoy seeing a timeline once completed, but they do not always enjoy making them.
As part of the TOS Crew, I was sent Bible Timeline from Bible Charts and Maps to use in our home.
At first glance, the timeline is a bit overwhelming with small print so it can all fit on the chart. It is put together in three large sections: Section 1: Adam to Abraham, Section 2: Abraham to Christ, and Section 3: Christ to 2000 AD.
For those struggling with tiny print it may be worth the effort to pull out a magnifying glass to read better. As my boys are mostly on the younger side, we have not used the timeline very much. In a household with high schoolers, I can see this having the potential to really tie everything together as they work their way through history and Bible studies.
In a nutshell, the chart has the history of the Bible laid out with other key historical figures marked as well. As a parent who does not always know right off the bat which key ‘historical’ figures were around when particular people in the Bible were alive, this chart helps to bridge the gap. While the boys are not at the point to realize the potential value of this product, I suspect it will come out again in the future as we cycle through our studies of world history.
You can purchase the Amazing Bible Timeline from Bible Charts and Maps. One chart for $29.97 or while their current promotion is in place you can order with a friend to receive two copies for $49.97. After purchase, you receive access to a bonus downloads including an interactive map of the Holy Land and a digital Amazing Bible Timeline. I really like the layering effect of the Holy Land map so you can see the location of ancient civilizations and then compare it to the modern day. And, the digital edition of the timeline is not that difficult to use with the zoom feature.
As always, you can read about what other TOS Crewmates think of this product on the TOS Homeschool Crew page. Like other products I have reviewed as a member of the TOS Crew, this was provided to me free of charge. No other compensation was provided to me for the review.
